Dance Team
The Indian Trail Academy Pom & Dance Team consists of ITA students in grades 9-12. It is a varsity team that competes in the WIAA sanctioned state regional competition each January in addition to other competitions throughout the year. The season begins with May tryouts and ends after the spring performances in March or mid-April. The team attends summer camp, usually in July. Performances include: homecoming, Mr. ITA, the Talent Show, the Dodgeball Classic, and the Back to School Celebration at Kenosha’s Lakefront. Team membership is chosen based on technique skills such as pirouettes, leaps, split jumps, high kicks, along with other elements such as routine performance and showmanship. Team size ranges from 15-20 girls, depending on the talent available at tryouts each year. The dance team is currently coached by Mrs. Kerkman, who is an executive board member of the Wisconsin Association of Cheer & Dance Coaches, and a judge for many local, state, and national cheer and dance competitions.
Meeting Times: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 2:50 - 5:30 pm in Biotech Commons
